Karen, Mel and Lynsey founded Fractionauts because they had seen the same problem too many times. Ambitious businesses stalling not from lack of ambition, but from lack of the right commercial leadership at the right moment.

Hiring a full senior team is expensive, slow and often the wrong answer. Good businesses plateau when they should be growing – and that gap is exactly what Fractionauts was built to fill.

Between them, they bring decades of experience leading marketing and commercial functions across agencies and businesses. They know what good looks like – and what it takes to get there.

Fractionauts is built around four beliefs. Marketing should be clear. Accountable. Human. Practical – delivered by people with their sleeves rolled up, not just their opinions on offer.

Karen Trickett
Founder, Director

Karen has operated across global brands, high-growth agencies and board level corporate roles, and now works as a founder and fractional commercial leader with ambitious SMEs. She has held senior roles including Chief Commercial Officer at Golden Charter and CEO of Tangible, alongside early career brand leadership roles with Pepsi and Hasbro, launching brands like Pokémon across Europe. She has seen first hand how growth stalls when marketing and sales lack alignment, structure or a clear commercial plan. From re-engineering digital customer journeys to leading large commercial teams and negotiating major partnerships, she brings deep, lived experience of what it takes to drive performance.

Clients value her ability to cut through complexity quickly, align leadership teams around a clear commercial strategy, and build joined-up marketing and sales functions that translate into pipeline, performance and measurable growth. Outside of work, she brings the same energy to family life – juggling business, children, chocolate labradors and a household that rarely stands still. She loves a glass of rosé now and then (!) – preferably in the sunshine in Italy.

Mel Morris

Mel is a straight-talking fractional CMO who’s had marketing in her title for 35+ years, with the kind of leadership muscle memory that means she can drop into a business quickly and get to what actually matters. Her career spans agencies, FTSE 100 roles and startups, and for the past six years she’s worked fractionally with teams who don’t need more theory, they need to move. She’s seen the buzz of scaling and exit, and the reality of when things don’t go to plan, so she knows where to focus to get results. Clients bring her in to cut through noise, align teams and get things done.

She brings pace, clarity and a commercial edge that keeps everyone honest and moving in the same direction. Outside of work, she’s usually juggling family life + a super sensitive lab. With a competitive family, often found hockey/rugby sidelines, and currently has an ongoing battle to master sourdough, proving that even the most practical operators don’t always get it right first time!
